Harford School Bus Sideswiped In Hit And Run: Police

Officials are investigating after a Harford County school bus was sideswiped in a traffic circle.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A driver hit a school bus in Harford County Wednesday morning and left the scene, according to Maryland State Police. Nobody was injured, and police ask anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

The bus was sideswiped in the traffic circle on Philadelphia Road at Ashford Drive, according to officials. It happened as the bus was en route to Church Creek Elementary School at 8:43 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, according to Brenda Carl, spokeswoman for Maryland State Police.

Afterward, all 11 students aboard were taken on the same bus to their school, police said. Nobody was injured; officials reported the children and driver were safe.

"The damage was minor," Carl said. "They were both going through the traffic circle" when the other vehicle "just barely swiped" but "did make contact with the bus," she told Patch.

Police have a tag number, according to Carl.
