Harford Community College to Close for Deputy's Funeral

BEL AIR, MD – The funeral for one of two Harford County Sheriff’s deputies killed in the line of duty is slated for Saturday at Harford Community College.

Senior Deputy Mark Logsdon, 43, will be remembered at a funeral service at APGFCU Arena at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20.

Logsdon was fatally shot while searching for the suspect who had gunned down another deputy inside the Abingdon Panera, according to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.

For Logsdon’s funeral, Harford Community College will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20.

“Heavy attendance is anticipated at the service and traffic delays in the vicinity of the college are expected,” according to a statement from Harford Community College.

Harford Community College is located at 401 Thomas Run Road, in Bel Air.

Service Information for Senior Deputy Mark Logsdon

Visitation for Senior Deputy Mark Logsdon will be from 2 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18, and Friday, Feb. 19, at Mountain Christian Church, 1824 Mountain Road, in Joppa, in the New Life Center.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20, at Harford Community College, 401 Thomas Run Road, in Bel Air, in the APGFCU Arena.

Burial will be at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, 200 Padonia Road, in Timonium.

Statement from Harford Community College

Harford Community College will be closed from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2016, for the funeral of Deputy Mark Logsdon. All on-campus classes will be cancelled. The Library, Continuing Education Registration, Testing Center, and Learning Center will be closed for the entire day. On campus activities will resume at 3 p.m. Heavy attendance is anticipated at the service and traffic delays in the vicinity of the College are expected.
