HCPS Students Receive Free Backpacks Courtesy Of American Legion Post 55

American Legion Post 55, along with business and community partners, donated numerous backpacks and school supplies to HCPS students.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — American Legion Post 55 recently donated backpacks and school supplies to nine Title I schools within the Harford County Public Schools district.

The donation drive, spearheaded by American Legion Post 55, was carried out in partnership with local businesses and community members.

“These students are the future of our community, and it is our duty to support and invest in their education,” said Rev. Dr. Andee Mountain, community service coordinator of American Legion Post 55. “By donating these backpacks and school supplies, we hope to alleviate some of the financial burdens that families may face at the start of the school year and enable these young individuals on their studies without distractions.”

The collaborative initiative received an overwhelming response from local businesses, community members and American Legion Post 55 members.

“We are deeply grateful for the support we’ve received from American Legion Post 55 and our community partners,” said Dr. Sean Bulson, superintendent of Harford County Public Schools. “This donation will have a profound impact on our students, boosting their self-confidence and motivation to excel in their studies. It’s heartening to see such a strong commitment to education from our community.”
