Bel Air Firefighters Respond to Hot Water Heater Fire
The fire was reported in Brentwood Park Saturday, according to the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company.
The Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company responded to a hot water heater on fire in a complex located in Brentwood Park, officials reported Saturday afternoon.
It was one of two heating equipment-related fires the fire company responded to Saturday.

There were no injuries as a result of the fire on Martell Court, and no serious damage to the three-story building, the report said.
Heating equipment is the second leading cause of home fires in the U.S. after cooking equipment, according to the National Fire Protection Association.

To stay safe, keep combustibles 3 feet away from heating equipment and have a qualified professional install water heaters and inspect them annually, according to the National Fire Protection Association recommend.
