House of Cards Goes to College

The Netflix show was filming at Harford Community College in Bel Air.

Leaders at Harford Community College asked students to keep their shutterbug tendencies at bay on Wednesday, while the producers of the Netflix series House of Cards were on campus.

“The film production crew and staff currently on campus have respectfully asked that we NOT take photos of the filming on campus or any activities surrounding it,” Harford Community College reported Wednesday morning.

It’s not the show’s first foray into Maryland college life.

A few months back, the crew filmed at Towson University, which was transformed into a hospital for some scenes.

The casting call for Sept. 16 in Bel Air had this pitch: “Be a college student on Netflix’s House of Cards,” so perhaps the campus will appear closer to its roots in the show.

What’s to come in the fourth season of House of Cards is largely unknown, although creators have said that Neve Campbell will be coming into the fold.

The fourth season of the political thriller starring Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright is anticipated to be released sometime in 2016.
