House Fire Claims The Life Of 82-Year-Old Bel Air Woman, Husband Survives: Official
A two-story house fire broke out Thursday night in Bel Air. An 82-year-old woman died in the fire; her husband made it out safely.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — An 82-year-old Bel Air woman died in a house fire Thursday. Her husband was able to make it out safely. The fire broke out shortly after 7 p.m. at a two-story home located in the 700 block of Linwood Avenue.
When firefighters with the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company and surrounding departments arrived, they found heavy smoke pouring out of the home and the husband standing outside. He told firefighters that his wife was still inside. They found her on the first floor.
It took an estimated 50 firefighters about 30 minutes to control the fire.

After a preliminary origin and cause investigation, deputy state fire marshals have determined the fire started in the kitchen but the cause remains under investigation. Official identification and cause of death of the victim will be released following an autopsy.
