James 'Jim' Crawford Ivy Sr., 66, of Bel Air

James “Jim” Crawford Ivy Sr., 66, of Bel Air, passed away on Dec. 8, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air after a brief illness.
Born in Baltimore and raised in Ellicott City, he was the son of the late James Crawford Ivy and Mary Jane (Lohrig) Meisel. He was a graduate of Cardinal Gibbons High School and the University of Baltimore. He retired from Automatic Data Processing after a 35-year career where he worked to develop and implement employee payroll and benefits systems for companies across the country.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, coaching his children’s youth sports teams in the Bel Air area, and he was a lifelong fan of the Baltimore Orioles and University of Maryland men’s basketball team.

Mr. Ivy is survived by his wife of 42 years, Geraldine Theresa Ivy; sons, James Crawford Ivy Jr. and wife, Monica, of Ellicott City and David Patrick Ivy and wife, Kelsey, of Baltimore; daughter, Kristin Michele Howard and husband, SSgt. Tallon Jayce Howard, of Fort Lee, Va.; grandchildren, Jameson Charles Ivy and Owen Crawford Ivy both of Ellicott City, and London Colette Jane Howard of Fort Lee, Va.; and stepfather, John Andrew Meisel. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Joseph Robert Ivy.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Rob Ivy Memorial Fund, c/o John Carroll High School, 703 E. Churchville Road, Bel Air, MD 21014.

Visitation will be at 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 14, at McComas Funeral Home, 50 W. Broadway, Bel Air, followed by a memorial service at 8 p.m.
