Lightning Strikes Nearby Jarrettsville Home, Officials Say

'Thunder snow' was reported in the area, according to Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS.

Nobody was injured when lightning hit a tree near a residence in Jarrettsville Wednesday afternoon, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

First responders were called to the 2400 block of Linda Lane in Jarrettsville, where smoke was reported in the residence, Gardiner said in a report at approximately 12:15 p.m.

Thunder snow and lightning were reported in the area, according to Gardiner, who said there was no serious damage caused by the lightning strike.

Harford County is under a winter weather advisory until 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
