'Thanksgiving Weather Event Has Begun': Harford Emergency Management

Snowfall in Bel Air is predicted to make roads, sidewalks slippery.

Harford County Emergency Management advised drivers to give themselves extra time to reach their destinations Wednesday, as roads could be hazardous due to weather conditions.

“The Thanksgiving weather event has begun,” Harford County Emergency Management reported Wednesday morning. “Rain will turn to snow later this morning as temperatures begin to drop.”

Rapidly, rain will change to snow, according to the National Weather Service, which said sidewalks and roads will be slippery as a result. Approximately 1 to 3 inches of snow are in the forecast for Bel Air.

“Several inches of snow [are] possible north of I-95 in the northwestern part of the county,” according to Harford County Emergency Management, which said less snowfall was predicted in southern Harford County and east of Interstate 95.

“Travel today may be hazardous depending upon the route,” Harford County Emergency Management officials advised. “Allow for additional time to reach your destination. Snowfall should end later this afternoon or early evening.”
