Lightning Strikes Utility Pole In Harford County: Officials
During the storms on Sunday night, the Abingdon Fire Company reported lightning hit Carsins Run Road.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Authorities said a lightning strike was reported Sunday night in Harford County. First responders and utility crews were dispatched to Carsins Run Road, which experienced a power outage as a result of the strike, according to the Abingdon Fire Company.
At 7:18 p.m., the fire company said it was notified about the issue and found that a utility pole in the 1900 block of Carsins Run Road was struck by lightning. Firefighters responded to the incident along with the Harford County Sheriff's Office and BGE.
A power outage ensued and the road was closed because of live wires that had fallen. By Monday morning, BGE was reporting no outages in the area and the road had reopened.

The lightning hit as a storm swept through parts of Harford County. Some areas had been under a severe thunderstorm warning until 6:45 p.m. on Sunday calling for winds of up to 60 mph.
"It was definitely loud," one person commented on the Abingdon Fire Company's Facebook post about the strike.
