Looney's Donates $140K to Fallen Heroes After Benefit

BEL AIR, MD – One Bel Air business recently presented a donation of more than $100,000 to the Harford County Deputy Sheriff's Benevolent Fund.

Looney's Pub donated ticket sales from its April 10 Fallen Heroes Benefit to the fund, which supports first responders in times of financial need, whether they are law enforcement officers, EMS providers or firefighters.

"I am very proud to announce that we raised $140,000 for our fallen heroes' families," Looney's said in a statement Monday. "Unbelievable and outstanding show of love and support. As I have said and it's worth repeating, this is what happens when a community comes together as one. I'm very proud."

Bill Larney, the owner of Looney's in Bel Air, organized the all-day Fallen Heroes Benefit in honor of Senior Deputy Patrick Dailey, 52, and Senior Deputy Mark Logsdon, 43, who were shot and killed in Abingdon on Feb. 10.

The event featured 30 bands and $20 tickets, with all proceeds going to the Harford County Deputy Sheriff's Benevolent Fund. Organizers planned a concert so that the maximum number of people could participate, due to the overwhelming interest in supporting the event.

"We continue to feel the love!" the sheriff's office said in a statement upon receiving the $140,000 donation. "Thank you to Looney's Pub in Bel Air and to all the people who came to the event to support our Fallen Heroes, Pat and Mark. We were truly humbled to learn that the event raised more than $140,000 for the Harford County Deputy Sheriff's Union Benevolent Fund."

The Fallen Heroes Benefit was the largest event that Looney's has hosted in Bel Air, organizers said.
