Man Burned In Forest Hill Motor Home Fire: Officials

The fire marshal said an accident in Forest Hill sent a man to the hospital with burn injuries.

FOREST HILL, MD — A man was hospitalized with second-degree burns in Forest Hill Wednesday after pouring gasoline into his motor home, authorities said. The blaze was ruled accidental.

The 66-year-old man poured gasoline into the carburetor of his 1978 Winnebago motor home in an attempt to start it, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

Members of the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company responded to the motor home blaze in the 2200 block of Ady Road at 5:21 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, and the fire was out when they arrived.

The fire marshal determined that the fire started in the interior engine compartment.

There was $1,000 in damage to the motor home, investigators reported.

Harford County Emergency Medical Services personnel took the man to the Johns Hopkins Bayview Burn Center, where officials said he was listed in stable condition Thursday with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
