Man Charged After Shattering 11 Glass Panels At 2 Bus Shelters: Police
A Joppa man has been charged in the destruction of 11 glass panels at two bus shelters in Aberdeen.

ABERDEEN, MD — A 26-year-old Joppa man has been charged in connection to the vandalism of a bus shelter that ended up costing $15,000 to repair.
On Dec. 13, 2025, Aberdeen police officers were called to the Harford Transit LINK bus shelter at the Aberdeen MARC/Amtrak Train Station after there was a loud disturbance. Officers arrived and found extensive damage to the glass panels of two bus shelters. A total of 11 glass panels were shattered or damaged, the police department stated.
Police officers detained a suspect at the scene and launched an investigation. Maryland Department of Transportation surveillance footage showed a suspect, identified as Daniel Michael Phelps, 46, walk up to the bus shelter several times during the early morning hours, damaging the structures.

Phelps has been charged with multiple counts related to the destruction of property and vandalism.
Since the December 2025 incident, security cameras have been installed around the bus shelters for additional monitoring.
