Moores Mill Road Closure To Begin In Early May

Contractors are working on Moores Mill Road as part of a road reconstruction project.

BEL AIR, MD — A months-long road closure in Bel Air has been delayed, according to Harford County officials. The closure of Moores Mill Road will now begin on Monday, May 6.

During the road closure, contractors will be improving the roadway between US 1 and MD 924.

Previously, Moores Mill Road had been slated to close on Monday, April 22. However, officials said that the contractor was able to begin the work without closing the road.

Once the closure begins on Monday, May 6, it is expected to continue for five months. That means the new estimated reopening date will be Oct. 6.

Residents who live on Moores Mill Road between US 1 and MD 924 will be allowed to get through, and so will school buses and emergency vehicles.

All other drivers will be detoured around this stretch of Moores Mill Road.
