MRA Property Management Celebrates 25 Years in Business

MRA Property Management now represents over 200 communities in the mid-Atlantic region.

MRA Property Management, Inc. (MRA PMI) celebrated its 25th year in business with an anniversary open house for its Board Members and preferred vendors. Founded in 1989 in Bel Air, Maryland, MRA PMI offers full service property management of residential and commercial properties across Maryland, Delaware, and Pennsylvania.

From its original office location in Harford County, MRA PMI expanded to locations in Lewes, DE Stoney Beach and Grasonville, MD, and relocated its Bel Air Abingdon operation to a new larger office space in Abingdon in 2013.

With the investment of five original stockholders in 1989, MRA PMI hired Patrick Barrett as its first Property Manager and added a part-time bookkeeper to handle all accounting and financial duties. From two employees in one room with no computers to 30 employees across three offices today, MRA PMI now represents over 200 communities in the mid-Atlantic region.

MRA PMI was the first management company in Harford and Cecil Counties to obtain the Accredited Association Management Company designation from the Community Association Institute (CAI) and is one of fewer than 250 management companies worldwide who have earned this highest level of professional recognition in the community association management field. This designation requires the company senior manager be a Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM), 50% of the staff must hold an industry professional designation (CMCA, AMS, or PCAM) and the company must maintain fidelity, general liability, and worker’s compensation insurance in addition to meeting federal, state and local laws. MRA PMI is a member of the national CAI and the Chesapeake Regional Chapter. CAI has 60 chapters and 31,000 –plus members who work on behalf of the professionals and volunteers engaged in the management and governance of homeowner and condominium associations, cooperatives and other planned communities. MRA PMI is also a proud member of the Harford County Chamber of Commerce.

MRA PMI is proud of its steady growth over the last 25 years and is poised to remain strong and stable for the future, providing professional and reliable management of the communities it serves.
