Mustangs Fall to Patriots in Battle for State Softball Title

Softball players at C. Milton Wright motivated by the “unfinished business” with Northern after last year’s semifinals will have to take care of business next season.
The Patriots clinched their eighth consecutive state title Friday night against the Mustangs in the class 3A state championship at the University of Maryland.
The Northern Patriots won, 9-4, The Baltimore Sun reported, despite the Mustangs leading by three in the first inning.

C. Milton Wright senior Carolyn Weimer told The Sun the team thought it would be “so easy” to beat the Patriots since their star pitcher from last year had graduated.
The Mustangs reported the team went down in the final two innings of the game.
