National Night Out In Abingdon To Feature Motorcycle, ID Cards

The event off Constant Friendship Boulevard will include giveaways, face painting and more.

ABINGDON, MD - The Harford County Sheriff's Office will be at the Target in Abingdon Tuesday evening for National Night Out.

Recognized the first Tuesday in August, National Night Out is a community-building event celebrated in hundreds of neighborhoods across the country. Many communities hold street parties with local law enforcement, and residents turn on their front porch lights to help reduce crime.

In Abingdon, the community policing unit from the sheriff's office will be on hand for giveaways, children's ID cards, face painting, crime prevention tips, snacks and a motorcycle exhibit. There will be a school supply raffle and booths from the Boys and Girls Club. Additionally, an appearance is planned by "Tribute," the donated police vehicle dedicated this summer to honor all Harford County Sheriff's Office members lost in the line of duty.
