New Sports Venue To Move Into Former Bel Air Athletic Club Site, Arena Club Extends Hours

Bel Air's Arena Club has extended its hours of operation to help with child care needs and a new sports venue will move into vacant site.

BEL AIR, MD — After more than 40 years of operation, the Bel Air Athletic Club has officially closed. Many people in the area used the facility for its before and after school care, but Bel Air's Arena Club has stepped up to fill that void.

The Arena Club has announced it will extend its weekend hours from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. to new hours of 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The club previously was only open until 6 p.m. during the summer. The club also shared that it will be adding 10 more group fitness classes.

Replacing The Bel Air Athletic Club will be a youth sports center called Coppermine, according to WMAR. The sports venue has 15 locations in Maryland. According to its website, Coppermine offers youth summer camps, spring programs, health and fitness programs, club team programs, space for birthday parties and more. They serve more than 25,000 families with their classes, clinics, camps, leagues and tournaments.
