House Fire In Edgewood Under Control
Firefighters said flames were showing from the roof of a house in Edgdewood Sunday afternoon when they arrived.

EDGEWOOD, MD — Investigators are looking into what caused a fire at a home in Edgewood Sunday afternoon. Crews controlled the house fire in approximately 30 minutes.
At 1:10 p.m., the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company reported that its personnel arrived at the 2000 block of Rockwell Street to find flames through the roof of the home.
APG and Abingdon firefighters assisted in bringing the blaze under control by 1:40 p.m., officials reported.

Nobody was injured, and the Office of the State Fire Marshal was investigating the cause.
The house fire in Edgewood was the second incident that Joppa-Magnolia was dispatched to on Sunday. Before 8 a.m., crews responded to a house fire on Avedon Court in Joppa, where officials said one Joppa-Magnolia firefighter was hospitalized for medical reasons.
