Resident To Be Charged In Edgewood Townhouse Arson: Fire Marshal
One person reportedly jumped from a second-floor window and was hospitalized.

EDGEWOOD, MD (Update 3 p.m.) — Charges are pending against an Edgewood resident whose house was the site of a fire Sunday night, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
One person was hospitalized due to the fire, where eight people had been inside, officials reported.
The blaze started in a second-story bedroom and was ruled arson, according to the fire marshal.

Crews responded to the 1400 block of Charlestown Drive at K Court before 10:45 p.m., where they said smoke was showing from a townhouse.
Eight residents were inside the home and all but one got out safely, officials said; one person jumped from the second-story bedroom and was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.

The Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company reported its ambulance took the person who jumped from the window for medical treatment after 11 p.m.
APG and Abingdon fire companies assisted in battling the blaze, which authorities said was out by 11:06 p.m.
There was $5,000 in structural damage, the fire marshal said, and $5,000 worth of items were lost.
Charges against one of the people living at the house were pending, officials said Monday afternoon. According to officials, the owner of the house put the displaced tenants up in a motel.
