One Injured in Joppa House Fire, Officials Say

Joppa-Magnolia, Kingsville, Fallston and Abingdon firefighters reportedly assisted with firefighting,

One person was taken to the hospital after a house fire in Joppa Wednesday afternoon, according to the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company.

Firefighters were dispatched at approximately 4:15 p.m. to the 2500 block of Franklinville Road, where they found smoke showing from a single-family home, the fire company reported.

Two people who were in the home got out before first responders arrived, according to the report. A man was taken to Upper Chesapeake with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, the report said.

Kingsville, Fallston and Abingdon firefighters assisted and by 4:44 p.m., the fire was under control, according to the report.

The White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company covered calls for Joppa-Magnolia as its personnel worked to clear the scene.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal was called in to investigate the cause, according to Joppa-Magnolia, which cleared the scene at 7:16 p.m.
