Cyclist in Critical Condition After Crash Near Route 24: Reports
First responders requested a medevac following crash near Philadelphia Road.

A cyclist was reportedly flown to shock trauma Friday night in critical condition after a crash near MD Route 24 in Harford County.
Authorities requested a medevac after a man was hit by a vehicle in the area of Route 24 at MD 7/Philadelphia Road in Edgewood, the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company reported.
The 25-year-old cyclist was hit in the 1700 block of Philadelphia Road, according to WBAL.

At approximately 5:15 p.m., the Joppa-Magnolia Fire Company reported that Route 24 was shut down between US Route 40 and Edgewood Road because of the crash.
The victim suffered critical injuries, according to the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company, which responded to the incident along with the Abingdon Fire Company.

The injuries were believed to be life-threatening and the man was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment, WJZ reported.
Route 24 was closed to southbound traffic in the area of MD 7/Philadelphia Road, while northbound lanes were open, state transportation officials reported after 6 p.m.
By 7:07 p.m., transportation authorities said that Route 24 was open and the crash had cleared.
