PERRYMAN, MD — After a worker gunned down three people and injured three others Thursday morning at the Rite Aid distribution center in Perryman, first responders said they were at the scene within five minutes.

Gunfire erupted around 9 a.m. as the shooter was reporting to the complex off Perryman Road where she was working as a temporary employee, according to Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler.

One school and the nearby industrial buildings were placed on lockdown as law enforcement converged at the scene, blocking off roads and searching for those who may be injured or sheltering in place.
