Person Freed From Burning Vehicle After Car Crash Monday In Bel Air

A person was rescued from a burning vehicle Monday after a car crash happened in Bel Air, according to the fire company.

BEL AIR, MD — A person had to be extricated from a vehicle that caught on fire during a car crash Monday around 9:19 a.m.

The incident happened in the 3800 block of Philadelphia Road June 23. Company 3 and mutual aid units were dispatched to the scene for a rescue box assignment. Engine 315 responded with a crew of five at the time of dispatch, reported the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company. While en route, firefighters learned that an occupant in the burning vehicle was trapped, according to the fire company.

The E315s crew started battling the fire while working to free the trapped person, who was successfully extricated and flown by Maryland State Police Trooper 1 to a regional trauma center for advanced care, the fire company reported.
