Maryland Pets On Wheels Receives $7,500 Petco Love Grant For Helping Heroes Program
Pets on Wheels, which has coordinators in 15 counties, has received a $7,500 grant for its Helping Heroes initiative.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Maryland's Pets on Wheels, with coordinators in 15 counties and Baltimore City, has received a grant of $7,500 from Petco Love as part of its Helping Heroes initiative.
The grant supports service, therapy and working pet heroes. Pets on Wheels volunteer therapy pet teams provided more than 7,400 hours of therapy pet visits in 2022, many of them to veterans and seniors.
“We are incredibly honored to be recognized for our work by Petco Love,” said Gina Kazimir, Pets on Wheels executive director who hails from Bel Air. “Every day our therapy pets make a difference and this recognition means so much. We receive no insurance or government funds, so Petco Love truly is helping us continue to bring comfort and share love. We work with Petco in Columbia, Maryland to screen new volunteer teams, and this funding will go a long way toward making our mission possible.”
