Roads Reopen After Police Activity In Harford County

Route 24 and Trimble Road were temporarily closed due to police activity in the Edgewood area, officials said.

EDGEWOOD, MD — Officials say they have secured an area in Edgewood Wednesday morning where roads were temporarily closed due to police activity.

MD 24 was briefly shut down at Hanson Road, the Harford County Sheriff's Office reported before 10:50 a.m.

Law enforcement officers had been called to the 1600 block of Nuttal Avenue, where authorities said by 11:15 a.m., they had deemed the site secure.

"There is no threat to the community," according to a statement from the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

During the police activity, Route 24 was closed between the gate to Aberdeen Proving Ground and Trimble Road, according to the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association, which reported Trimble Road had been closed between Route 152 and Route 24. as well.

By 11:30 a.m., officials said all roads had reopened.
