Police ID Edgewood Driver Killed In Route 24 Crash

The man involved in a deadly crash on Route 24 has been identified.

EDGEWOOD, MD — Police have identified those involved in the fatal car crash on MD 24 in Harford County. Investigators have not yet determined what caused their Infiniti to go off the road and hit a tree, according to authorities.

Seth A. Grinnage, 36, of Edgewood, died in the crash, according to Maryland State Police.

He had been driving an Infiniti SUV that police said was speeding south on Route 24 when it passed the Route 40 spur, left the road, hit a tree in the median and flipped, then caught fire.

Troopers were called to the crash on Route 24/Emmorton Road between the US 40 spur and Edgewood Road at 11:50 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26.

Police said Grinnage was thrown out of the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene.

His passenger — Chardey D. Gilliam, 31, of Edgewood —was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center after the crash, police said. She lived at the same address as Grinnage, according to officials.

The crash team has not yet issued its report on the cause, and it may take some time, Maryland State Police spokeswoman Brenda Carl told Patch Thursday, Oct. 3.

There will be a wake at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service for Seth Grinnage on Saturday, Oct. 5, at Wylie Funeral Home, 9200 Liberty Road, Randallstown, MD 21133.

Immediately following the service there will be a burial at Arbutus Memorial Park, 1101 Sulphur Spring Road, Arbutus, MD 21227.
