Presidents Day 2018: What's Open And Closed In Bel Air

BEL AIR, MD — Monday is Presidents Day, and that means several government offices are closed in Bel Air and around the state. Presidents Day always falls on the third Monday of February, which this year is Feb. 19.

The holiday celebrates President George Washington's birthday. Many schools, offices and government buildings will be closed.

Here's a look at what's going to be open and what's going to be closed for Presidents Day this year:

Bel Air Government: Town Hall and other government offices will be closed in Bel Air. Harford County, state of Maryland and federal government offices will be closed too.

Trash: Pickup for town residents whose curbside collection day is usually on Monday will have their refuse removed on Wednesday, Feb. 21.

Harford County Public Library: All branches will be closed.

Harford County Public Schools: Public schools in Harford County will be closed.

Postal Service: No mail delivery, and all post offices will be closed.

Banks: Most financial institutions will be closed. Call ahead to be sure.

Stores: Most are open. Presidents Day is a big day for sales. While it may not enjoy the significance of shopping days like Black Friday or Cyber Monday, you're sure to find more markdowns that usual. Check out sales at the Harford Mall.

Parks: Parks will be open.
