Rapes Attributed To Carjacking Suspect: Harford Sheriff
A man wanted in connection with Edgewood carjackings is also suspected in multiple rapes, officials say.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — The man wanted in two carjacking cases at the Food Lion parking lot in Edgewood is also connected to two rapes in Harford County, authorities say. Investigators have been working to locate the suspect since Saturday. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
Devon Allen Odell Scott, 36, who has an address in Edgewood, is considered armed and dangerous, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.
Officials said Scott approached a woman in the Food Lion parking lot in the 2200 block of Hanson Road in Edgewood and asked her to call him a cab at 3:20 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14. Then he grabbed her arm and tried to get in her vehicle, authorities reported.

Another woman reported she was carjacked outside Food Lion a short time later, and investigators said they believed the suspect was the same man. He approached the woman in the parking lot then got into the passenger side of her vehicle, held her at knife-point and ordered her to drive to a location nearby, officials said.
When he told her to stop the car and then began to undress, authorities said the woman escaped and ran to call 911. Deputies were called to the 700 block of Monticello Court, and the suspect drove away in her car.

She was 21 years old, according to WBAL, and the woman he attempted to carjack earlier was 17. A third woman then contacted the sheriff's office and said she was approached by the same man at the location and raped in Edgewood around 10:30 a.m. Saturday, the TV station reported.
So far Scott is linked to two sexual assault cases, according to the sheriff's office.
"We believe Scott is the suspect in two other rape incidents," Harford County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Cristie Hopkins told Patch Monday night.
One involved a person in Havre de Grace who said she had a stranger hold a knife to her, forcing her to drive to a certain location.
Law enforcement officials have a warrant for Scott's arrest in connection with Saturday's kidnapping and armed carjacking, officials reported Sunday afternoon.
"The carjacking did not end in a rape, although it is impossible for us to predict what would’ve happened if the victim were not able to get out the car," Hopkins said Monday of the case on Monticello Court, where he was undressing in the vehicle.
