Boy Fell From King And Queen Seat: Officials

Technical rescuers were called to King and Queen Seat Thursday afternoon in Harford County.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Emergency officials rescued a boy at King and Queen Seat in Rocks State Park Thursday afternoon. Route 24 was closed during the response, and authorities said that the technical rescue was expected to take 45 minutes.

Crews from several fire companies assisted Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company and the Harford Technical Resue Team, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

A 13-year-old boy was to be airlifted to a regional trauma center following the rope rescue, Gardiner said.

Route 24 was closed between Rocks Chrome Road and Saint Clair Bridge Road.

The rescue came days after a fatal fall was reported there.

A man died at King and Queen Seat in Rocks State Park Saturday, officials said. He fell from the rocky outcropping, according to the Maryland Natural Resources Police.
