For Response to 'Horrific Crash,' Bel Air Police Department Thanks Community
Police thanked first responders and bystanders for their 'heroism' and 'true compassion' in the face of a double fatal wreck.
BEL AIR, MD — The Bel Air Police Department wrote a thank-you note to first responders and the community in the aftermath of a fiery crash that killed two Saturday afternoon on MD 24.
Authorities said they were grateful to both first responders and bystanders for their assistance and concern.
"The Bel Air PD wishes to acknowledge bystanders that attempted to assist during the initial stages of this tragic event. You did your absolute best to try to save/rescue those that perished," police said.

Stacy Rena Pell-Boulan, 47, and Caitlyn Boulan, 4, of Lake Fanny Road in Bel Air, died after their vehicle hit a median on MD 24 near Boulton Street and was engulfed in flames by Harford Mall. Police said Michael Boulan, 16, was the only survivor.
"Secondly, BAPD wishes to acknowledge the assistance of all first responders who performed rescue efforts; stabilized and documented the scene; and reopened the roadways," police said.

MD 24 was closed in the area of Baltimore Pike from approximately 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday for investigation.
Witnesses — including the teen who survived — "were confronted with a tragic scene and chain of events involving this horrific crash," the Bel Air Police Department said in a statement.
Those who need help coping may contact the Harford County Mobile Crisis Services at 410-638-5248 daily from 8 a.m. until midnight.
Officials commended emergency personnel and bystanders for their "true compassion, heroism, teamwork and commitment," stating: "It was clear that the welfare and dignity for victims was of paramount concern during these efforts. Thank you all, from the Bel Air Police Department."
