Route 1 Closed At Allibone Road For Crash: SHA
There is a crash northeast of Bel Air that has shut down Conowingo Road, officials report.

BEL AIR, MD — A crash has shut down US 1 northeast of Bel Air Tuesday afternoon. The collision involved one vehicle on Conowingo Road/Route 1, officials said.
Route 1 was closed near Allibone Road just before 3 p.m., according to officials.
Gallons of fuel spilled in the area as a result of the crash, which was expected to take a significant amount of time to clear, according to WBAL Radio.

Approximately 2,000 gallons of fuel spilled, and the driver was hospitalized with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, WJZ reported.
This was the second crash on Route 1 this afternoon in the region. About 8 miles away in Cecil County, a vehicle tipped over near the Conowingo Dam, causing closures there as well. As of 3:20 p.m., traffic was still being detoured around that crash.
