Route 543 Reopens After Serious Crash, Officials Say
Authorities said two people were taken to regional trauma centers following a serious crash on MD 543 south of Wheel Road.

BEL AIR, MD — A crash near Broom's Bloom Dairy Monday evening shut down part of MD 543 for about two hours, according to emergency officials.
The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. in the area of the 1700 block of South Fountain Green Road, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.
Within 10 minutes, those who were trapped had been rescued, according to Gardiner.

He said four ambulances were requested, and two people were taken to regional trauma centers by land since aviation was down to weather.
Drivers were advised to avoid Route 543 south of Wheel Road.

The State Highway Administration reported that the road had reopened by 9:31 p.m.
