State Trooper from Bel Air Wins Free Coffee for a Year
Charles Bracken is a policeman as well as a volunteer firefighter and paramedic.

A Bel Air man will receive free coffee each week for a year after he was named a Dunkin’ Donuts Community Hero.
Charles Bracken of Bel Air is a K-9 trooper for the Maryland State Police who previously worked as a New York City firefighter in Manhattan, according to a statement from Dunkin’ Donuts, which solicited online nominations and selected 10 winners in the greater Baltimore area for their contributions to the community.
Bracken was recognized in 2012 by Maryland State Police for his work at the scene of a 2010 medevac landing where the helicopter had an engine failure on MD 543, The Aegis reported.

In addition to his job with police, Bracken volunteers with Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company as a firefighter and paramedic. He’s also a member of the technical rescue/swift water rescue team out of Baltimore County.
Frequently, Bracken teaches tactical training to paramedics, police officers and other emergency service providers, according to a statement from Dunkin’ Donuts.

During the April riots in Baltimore, Bracken was part of the Maryland State Police tactical team, the statement said.
Having been designated a Community Hero, Bracken will receive a $500 coupon book for free coffee for a year from Dunkin’ Donuts. The organization honored members of the community it says “help keep our community running.”
