PIKESVILLE, MD — Extra Maryland State Police troopers will be on the road throughout the state this Halloween weekend to crack down on impaired driving, as well as speeders and aggressive and distracted drivers.
Extra enforcement efforts are being paid for by highway safety grants from the Maryland Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office to ensure added safety as risks increase with the potential for more pedestrians on the roads.
Impaired driving enforcement began Friday night and continues through Halloween, focused on locating and arresting drunk and drugged drivers, the agency said in a news release.
