Suspect Arrested in Edgewood Triple Stabbing: Harford Sheriff

Ivan Bustamante was taken into custody Sunday, the Harford County Sheriff's Office reported.

The man suspected in a fatal stabbing in Edgewood is in police custody, the Harford County Sheriff’s Office reported Sunday afternoon.

Ivan Enrique Molina Bustamante, 21, was arrested at 11 a.m. on Sunday, the report said.

Bustamante was wanted in connection with the stabbing of two 15-year-old girls and a 39-year-old woman in the 100 block of Reider Court in Edgewood at approximately 6:25 p.m. on Saturday , the Harford County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The victims were a mother and her twin daughters, according to Fox 45. They were attacked inside their home, where there was no sign of a break-in, the Associated Press reported.

As a result of the stabbings, one of the teens died; the other was airlifted to shock trauma, where she was treated and released; and the 39-year-old woman underwent surgery and was in stable condition Sunday afternoon, the sheriff’s office reported.

The sheriff’s office did not disclose the identities of the victims, stating that next of kin had not yet been notified as of Sunday afternoon. It was not immediately available whether the suspect was related to the victims, according to WBAL.

After the stabbings, officials said they identified Bustamante as the suspect but could not find him in a Saturday night canvass of the area by air and land.

On Sunday, Bustamante was arrested in Edgewood approximately 2 miles from the scene of the crime, The Baltimore Sun reported.

The Harford County Sheriff’s reported that he was taken in for questioning and was arrested without incident.
