The arrest came the day after the sheriff’s office asked the public to help locate him.
“I’m happy to report that as the result of a tip from a community member, today at 11:30 a.m., Griffin was located at a residence in Cecil County by law enforcement and successfully taken into custody without incident,” Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler said Tuesday afternoon.

“I want to thank the members of the public and the community for tirelessly sharing Griffin’s picture...” Gahler said. “You made it possible for the sheriff’s office to quickly get Mr. Griffin in custody and ensure that he is brought to justice on this heinous act.”
Griffin is charged with first-degree murder, first-degree child abuse and first-degree assault in the death of his girlfriend’s 3-month-old son Aaman Perez, the sheriff’s office reported.
A spokesman for the sheriff’s office said Griffin called 911 at 9:40 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 16, to report a baby in cardiac arrest.
Both Griffin and the baby’s mother left the scene before law enforcement arrived, according to the report.
When deputies arrived, they found Aaman Perez unresponsive, according to the sheriff’s office.
First responders tried to save the baby’s life and took him to Upper Chesapeake, where he was declared deceased at 10:25 a.m., officials reported.
An autopsy showed that Perez’s death was a homicide caused by head trauma, the report stated.
The baby’s mother Aja M. Terry, 26, was arrested Sunday in Delaware, according to the sheriff’s office.
Officials placed Terry’s two other children—Aaman’s twin brother and a 5-year-old boy—into the custody of Child Protective Services, according to the report.
Both children had fractures indicative of child abuse, Gahler said at a press conference Monday afternoon, stating: “I think its strongly suspected that the boyfriend in this case was [the] primary [suspect].”
