During a flood warning, flooding is imminent or occurring. If drivers encounter water of unknown depths, they should turn around—don’t drown—and move to a higher elevation.

“If you see standing or rushing water, do drive through it! Turn around and seek an alternate route,” the Darlington Volunteer Fire Company said in a statement. “If the water is not blocked by signage or a public service vehicle, please contact 9-1-1 or local law enforcement so the appropriate measures can be taken!”
