Thieves Swipe $1K In Barnes & Noble Merchandise: Bel Air PD

A man and woman were captured on camera stealing from Barnes & Noble; now the Bel Air Police Department needs help identifying them.

BEL AIR, MD — The Bel Air Police Department is asking for help identifying a couple who allegedly stole more than $1,000 in merchandise from Barnes & Noble.

A man and a woman were suspected in the theft, which occurred at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 9, at the store in the 600 block of Marketplace Drive.

Police said that the man took items from the shelves and removed Spider Wrap (security devices), then put the merchandise in another spot. Minutes later, the woman put the items into an oversized bag and placed a sweater at the top, officials allege.

When the two left the store without buying anything, police said they had stolen $1,089.60 worth of items.

The suspects were described as a balding white man with a full beard and mustache who was 5 feet 10 inches tall, 170 pounds and 25 to 35 years old; and a white woman with brown hair, who was wearing glasses and was 5 feet 6 inches tall, 160 pounds and 25 to 35 years old.
