Thousands Without Power in Harford After Storm: BGE

Police said traffic signals were out in parts of Harford County.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD – Several traffic lights were out and thousands of residents were without power Wednesday afternoon following a severe thunderstorm in Harford County.

According to BGE, approximately 15,000 people statewide were experiencing outages Wednesday afternoon on the heels of a storm with strong winds; more than 5,800 of those BGE customers were in Harford County.

For those who come to traffic signals that are out, Maryland law requires treating them as four-way stops.

Traffic lights were out along Route 22 and West Bel Air Avenue in Aberdeen, according to police.

MD 159/Perryman Road at Canning House Road was closed due to weather, state transportation officials said.

Drivers should be extra careful to watch for potential debris in roads, Harford County's Department of Emergency Services advised.
