Tollgate Road Reconstruction: New Arch Culvert Installed

BEL AIR, MD — A new arch culvert was recently installed near the Bel Air Veterinary Hospital in the 1500 block of South Tollgate Road. The Highways Division of the Harford County Department of Public Works shared photos of the progress Friday morning, stating the project is "well underway."

Tollgate Road is being reconstructed between Plumtree and West Ring Factory roads.

The new arch culvert provides greater flood capacity than the three pipe culverts it is replacing, according to highway officials.

The new arch will also allow for fish to pass through and can act as a natural stream bed, officials said.
