Traffic Light Out On MD 543: Officials

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Due to a power outage, the traffic signal is not working on MD 543 at Interstate 95, according to officials.

Drivers should use extreme caution in the area, advised Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

He said that as of 5 p.m., the light in Riverside was out and personnel from BGE, the State Highway Administration and Maryland State Police were aware of the situation.

BGE estimated that the repair should be complete by 6:30 p.m. It was first reported at 3:05 p.m., according to the utility company.

Drivers are reminded to treat non-working signals as a four-way stop.
