Two Charged in Edgewood Shooting Near Playground: Sheriff

The Harford County Sheriff's Office said both suspects were being held without bail.

Two people have been charged in a nonfatal shooting that occurred in Edgewood earlier this month, the Harford County Sheriff’s Office reports.

The victim was shot behind businesses near the Brookside Drive playground at approximately 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 16, the report stated. He was taken to a regional trauma center in serious condition due to multiple gunshot wounds, according to the report.

Thirty-year-old Lloyd Richard Barnes IV, of the 1900 block of Eloise Lane in Edgewood, and Tyrell Reginald Hairston, 29, of the 100 block of North Payson Street in Baltimore, have been charged in connection with the shooting, the Harford County Sheriff’s Office reports.

Both Barnes and Hairston are being held without bail at the Harford County Detention Center, the report said.

Each is charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and use of a weapon to commit a violent/felony crime.

Barnes is due in Harford County District Court on Oct. 20. Hairston will appear Oct. 23.
