U.S. Army Aberdeen Test Center To Conduct Nighttime Training

The training, which is part of readiness tests for servicemen, may produce the firing of weapons that can be heard off of the installation.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD— Local residents living near the U.S. Army Aberdeen Test Center may hear nighttime military-related activities that involve the firing of weapons and other exercises that may produce flashes of light that are visible outside of the installation.

The activity, which will begin Wednesday and run through Friday, is part of readiness training of servicemembers. The operations, test center officials indicated in a news release, are not hazardous to surrounding communities and will include military weapons and watercraft. The exercises are an integral part of military training, officials said.

Organizations at the test center take every measure to mitigate instances when training or testing becomes problematic to residents living off the installation, according to the news release. Test center leaders take noise complaints very seriously and attempts to keep the surrounding community informed about training methods without compromising military security.
