Unattended Fried Shrimp Cooking In Kitchen Sparks House Fire
An estimated $750K in loss, damages has been reported by the state fire marshal's office after a kitchen fire in a Jarrettsville home.

JARRETTSVILLE, MD — Four adults and two children have been displaced after a fire broke out at their Jarrettsville home Friday morning.
Firefighters were called to the two-story, single family home located in the 3200 block of Sudath Lane around 2:50 a.m. According to the Office of the State Fire Marshal's Office, an adult was fixing fried shrimp and stepped away momentarily, returning to discovering a fire in the kitchen. He attempted to control the fire with a garden hose, but the fire spread rapidly throughout the home, officials said.
The Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company was first on the scene, with more than 40 firefighters showing up to help battle the blaze, which took around an hour to control.

All six residents escaped without injury, authorities said.
Estimated loss of contents and structure damage sits at around $750,000.
