Bel Air Firehouse Crash May Be Hit and Run: Police
Police seek information about dark-colored SUV that may have left the scene of crash into fire station on Hickory Avenue.
After a vehicle crashed into a Bel Air fire station Monday afternoon, authorities are asking for help identifying a second vehicle that may have left the scene.
A Honda CRV crashed into the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company’s main station, according to Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association spokesman Rich Gardiner.
There was no structural damage to the firehouse in the 100 block of South Hickory Avenue, Gardiner said.
Police responded to the crash at 4:22 p.m. and found that a 42-year-old Bel Air woman who had been driving the Honda CRV was taken to an area hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, according to the Bel Air Police Department.
Besides the 2010 Honda CRV, officials say they are investigating whether an additional vehicle may have been involved; the second vehicle was described as a dark-colored SUV.
According to police, the Honda CRV was traveling north on Hickory Avenue when the dark SUV, headed west on MD 22/Churchville Road, may have hit it.
Police said the dark SUV left the scene, headed north on Hickory Avenue toward the Hickory/Forest Hill area.

First responders did not have to travel far to one call on Monday afternoon.
A vehicle crashed into the fire station on South Hickory Avenue between 4 and 5 p.m. Monday, according to Rich Gardiner of the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company.
One person was taken to a local facility for treatment of minor injuries after the crash, Gardiner said.
There was no structural damage to the firehouse, he said.
The station is located in the 100 block of South Hickory Avenue in Bel Air.
