After 2 Crashes On Bel Air Bypass Road Reopens: Officials
Traffic was diverted after two crashes on the Bel Air Bypass Tuesday morning, authorities said.

BEL AIR, MD — Authorities said two crashes on the Bel Air Bypass Tuesday morning prompted a temporary closure of the road. In the first crash, a vehicle overturned on the northbound part of the bypass at Rock Spring Road, according to officials. The second crash happened near the Vale Road overpass.
By 8:45 a.m., the bypass had completely reopened after first responders cleared two collisions, officials said.
The latter happened at approximately 7:12 a.m. At least one person was trapped after a collision on the northbound part of the Bel Air Bypass at the Vale Road overpass, according to Jenn Chenworth, spokeswoman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

After that crash, northbound traffic was diverted onto Rock Spring Road, she reported. The southbound side of the bypass was also closed due to debris from the crash in the southbound lanes.
Within two hours of the first crash, officials were reporting the bypass had reopened.
