County Opens Warming Centers in Bel Air Area

With wind chills making it feel as cold as 25 below, Harford County has opened four libraries as warming centers, according to Harford County Emergency Management.

These warming centers will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 15.

• Bel Air branch of Harford County Public Library; 100 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Bel Air
• Abingdon branch of Harford County Public Library; 2510 Tollgate Rd., Abingdon
• Jarrettsville branch of Harford County Public Library; 3722 Norrisville Rd., Jarrettsville
• Aberdeen branch of Harford County Public Library; 21 Franklin St., Aberdeen

Wind Chill Advisory, Wind Advisory in Effect

A wind chill advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Sunday, calling for temperatures from single digits to the teens with wind chills that feel like 5 to 25 degrees below.

Much of the state is under a wind advisory until 4 p.m. Sunday, with the potential for wind gusts from 20 to 30 mph and up to 45 mph that may cause downed power lines and trees, according to the National Weather Service. Officials advised that snow may blow across the area, limiting visibility.
