What's Open, Closed In Bel Air For 4th Of July 2020

As the Independence Day holiday falls on a Saturday, some services will have changes the day before in Bel Air.

BEL AIR, MD — The Fourth of July is slated to look different this year in Bel Air due to the ongoing pandemic. Bel Air's Independence Day celebration and many others are canceled. But one thing we can count on is a federal holiday.

Because July 4 falls on a Saturday, the Independence Day holiday is observed on Friday, July 3. Harford County government offices will be closed, and other services will have schedule changes.
Many services are already affected by the pandemic.

Harford County government offices: Harford County government offices are closed on Friday, July 3.

Courts: All Maryland courts will be closed July 3. District Court Commissioners are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Community centers: Most activity centers in Harford County have been closed since March 13.

Libraries: All branches of Harford County Public Library will be closed Friday, July 3. Libraries have been closed except for pickup appointments.

Post offices: These will be closed on Saturday, July 4.

Transit: Harford TransitLink bus service is closed Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4.

Trash and recycling pickup: All recycling will be collected Thursday, July 2, in the town of Bel Air this week. Private collection customers should check with their provider for changes.

Trash and recycling centers: The Harford Waste Disposal Center and Tollgate Yard trim drop-off facility will both be closed Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4.
