What's Open, Closed In Bel Air For New Year's Day 2021

BEL AIR, MD — Parks and many stores will be open Friday for New Year's Day as we ring in 2021. It is a federal holiday, so government offices and some services will be closed or not operating on Jan. 1.
Town of Bel Air government offices will be closed Friday for New Year's Day, and so will those in Harford County government. Libraries will also be closed.
Post offices will be closed Friday. Regular mail will not be delivered.

Parking is free for the holidays in Bel Air. People do not need to feed the meters in town until Jan. 2, 2021.
Curbside Collection
Recycling for all town of Bel Air residents will be collected Thursday, Dec. 31.

Loose leaf/yard waste collection will not occur on Friday, Jan. 1.

Food Lion: Open 7 a.m.–10 p.m. Thursday and Friday.
Giant: Open until 9 p.m. Thursday; 6 a.m.–midnight Friday.
Harford Mall is open 11 a.m.–6 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Individual store hours may vary.
Redner's: Open 6 a.m.–9 p.m. Thursday; open 6 a.m.–6 p.m. Friday.
Safeway at Greenbrier: 5 a.m.–10 p.m. Thursday; and 7 a.m.–10 p.m. Friday.
ShopRite of Main Street: 6 a.m.–10 p.m. Thursday; 8 a.m.–10 p.m. Friday.
ShopRite at the Festival: 6a.m.–8 p.m. Thursday; 8 a.m.–10 p.m. Friday.

Holiday Lights
New Year's Eve is the last night for the St. Matthew Lutheran Church's Christmas Festival of Lights, which runs from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday. The drive-thru display off Route 22 is set to music. Donations of nonperishable goods will go to the church's food pantry. Visit at 1200 E. Churchville Road, Bel Air, MD 21014.
Main Street in Bel Air dazzles for Winter Wonderland from 5–10 p.m. through Jan. 1.
1722 Edwin Drive, Bel Air, MD 21015. Brad's Christmas Light Show is open 5:30–10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 5:30–9:30 p.m. Sunday to Thursday until Jan. 1. Listen to 92.7 FM to hear the soundtrack to this light show. People can donate to the Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic at a box in front of the house or online. Turn off headlights and do not block driveways.
3107 Nova Scotia Road, Bel Air, MD 21015. The Spencer Family Holiday Lights shine 5 p.m.–midnight until Jan. 3. More than 175 blow molds plus other inflatables and sculptures are on display, courtesy of the Spencer family, which has been decorating for more than 15 years. About 5,000 lights are out this year and so is a mega tree.
